Thawan Daeng Guest House Location & Map

Thawan Daeng Guest House is located near the old railway bridge on Don Det. The old railway bridge connects Don Det to Don Khone, making this location a perfect base for exploring both islands and the famous waterfalls in the area. Thawan Daeng is the first guest house to the right of the bridge when looking at Don Det and is situated just after Mekong Dream Restaurant and Hammock Lounge on the water's edge.

This prime location on the river front is a quiet area of Don Det where guests can take in the activities of local life from their very balcony whilst still having facilities and services within easy reach. Don Khone is within walking distance of Thawan Daeng Guest House.

If arriving by chartered boat, ask to be dropped directly at Thawan Daeng Guest House which has an appropriate riverside setting for arriving and departing by boat. If the boat driver doesn't know this guest house, direct him to the old railway bridge which connects Don Det and Don Khone where Thawan Daeng is to the right of the bridge on Don Det.  Thawan Daeng is the 1^st Guest House to the right of the bridge. Look for an over water restaurant, approximately the 1^st restaurant to the right after ‘Mekong Dream Restaurant and Hammock Lounge'.

If arriving by tourist boat to Don Det, the boat will most likely arrive at the very north-western tip of the island which is a fair distance and not walkable to Thawan Daeng Guest House. From here, you can either:

• Hire a boat to drop you around to Thawan Daeng. Chartered boats are relatively cheap.
• Find motorcycle taxi's or island song taos/tuk tuks to bring you across island to River Garden.
• Hire your own motorbike for exploration of both Don Det and Don Khone while in the region and drive your own way to River Garden. The drive will take approximately 10 - 20 minutes depending of the road condition via the inland road, not the road following the shore line.

If arriving from Don Khone,  Thawan Daeng is within walking distance of this neighbouring island using the old railway bridge. Cross the bridge to Don Det and turn right off the bridge so you are taking the path that goes around the edge of the island. Thawan Daeng is a 10 minute walk up the road/path and is the 1^st guest house and just past ‘Mekong Dream Restaurant and Hammock Lounge'.
