STELLAR FACILITY . BREAKFAST BUFFET ABOVE PAR.WE ATE AT THE RESTAURANT/ BEER GARDEN ON THE MEKONG FOR OUR EVENING MEALS - GOOD VALUE , SERVICE, WITH DELICIOUS ASIAN (AND EUROPEAN ON WEEKENDS) MENU.

Excellent value accommodation - central location, spacious room, serviced daily, good breakfast before the tourist groups descend. Highly recommend the Sang Aroun Hotel. The spacious rooftop is wasted - it could easily be transformed into a beer garden or seating area as there is a good view.

It was a great experience staying in this wonderful building. The electrics in our room were really not up to standard. Our bedside lights did not work and the wall switches were coming away from the wall. The water was not always hot.
- 19 Apr 2012, Mrs Lucinda W.THIS FACILITY IS NOT NEW, BUT QUITE LOVELY AND THE VIEW , STAFF, AND SENSATION OF GOING BACK IN TIME TO A GRANDER , SIMPLER TIME WAS QUITE MOVING .RECENTLY UPGRADED AMENITIES ARE COMPETITIVE WITH NEWER LODGING. THE OMELETTES AT BREAKFAST WERE SUCCULENT ! WE HAD A VERY POSITIVE EXPERIENCE HERE AND HEARTILY RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE. THE SUITES ARE WORTH THE EXTRA IF IT IS WITHIN ONE'S MEANS . WE WOULD NOT HESITATE TO RETURN .
- 04 Jan 2012, Mr MICHAEL M.This is a charming hotel with an excellent standard of accommodation, and the hotel buildings were in beautiful old shop-houses. It had by far the best hot water supply I have encountered during my travels in Lao. However, the standard of housekeeping could be much improved. The same applies to the maintenance of the grounds. The staff were charming and very helpful. One grudge: the boat race was on during my stay which no-one pointed out to me. They arranged my visit to Wat Phou on the day of the race. I could have easily postponed my visit there by a day. Maybe I should have been a more alert traveller!

- 09 Apr 2012, Mr Benoit D.I had a very nice situated bungalow in front of the river. Room Service not be done every day. Drinking Water for free. Rooms are just equipped very standard. You can hear each word or noises from the neighbour room.

- 19 Dec 2011, Mrs Ulrike B.Eenvoudige en wat verwaarloosde kamer. Medewerkers zijn wat afwezig. Hangen veelal voor de tv die de hele dag aanstaat in de lobby. Weinig aandacht voor de gasen. Lijkt alsof de familie Pon alle aandacht geeft aan hun Arena hotel wat 100 meter verderop ligt. We hebben daar niet geslapoen, maar zijn wel allervriendelijkst uitgenodigd door de eigenaar van dat hotel voor een ontbijt.
- 07 Dec 2011, Mr Peter L.The hut we stayed in was very nice and clean The reception/ dining was dark and disorganised and the roof leaked badly (the rain was very heavy and the roof was thatched) The included breakfast on the menu was extensive, but the hot food provided was much less than listed. There are several dogs in and around the restaurant, although that didn't bother me until the dog vomitted then licked it all up again Maybe since it was so quiet they should have been closed and fixing the roof? Also, the price was very high compared to the others in the area I would have been happy to pay this price if the communal areas had been nicer
