From Pakse: head to the main bus station in Pakse (8km from the centre of town) and jump on any of the many Song Tao's heading south to or through Champasak Town. The 45 km journey should take around 1 hour depending on the ferry situation. The Song Tao will drive onto the ferry barge and take you across the Mekong River to Champasak Town. After the Song Tao/bus leaves the ferry, it will turn left onto the main street of Champasak Town with the centre being 1.5km away. Look out for Thavisab Hotel which will be one of the first guest houses you come across on your right hand side.
From the ferry landing in Champasak Town: turn left onto the main street and head 1.5km into the centre of town heading south towards Wat Phou Temple.
Thavisab Hotel is on your right hand side (away from the river) and before the roundabout and Tourist Information Centre.
